You make bird noises in your sleep....

It only takes a few days of gorgeous weather to forget the crappy week of weather we just endured.  Right on cue the skies opened up and we were treated to a {nearly hot} awesome weekend of sunshine.

On another note,{you will laugh at this one}......my husband, only the other night made a joke that I have been sounding like a bird in my sleep. 

" You have been making a bird like sound" he said

" Oh yeah, sure" I replied

" Yeh, you have been keeping me awake, a bit like {he made a whistle sound}"

" Righto" I said, doubting him....

The next day, I can't remember what we were doing, but I looked out and saw that the swans that have been frequenting our canal had a little friend with them.  A duck at first I thought, how cute, he thinks the swans are his parents.  After a closer look, it was in fact a baby swan, a chicklet...a grey little fluffy bundle. So cute!

The girls were tickled pink and once the swans knew we were out the front on the lawn they brought their new addition right up to show us.  {I have to keep the girls on the right side of the fence as the swans can get quite bossy}.

He was just so trusting and we all felt so proud for the swans.  I hope he stays safe and out of trouble...

Anyways, that evening we discovered that the swans had in fact been settling in for the night on the grass next door - it is one of the only houses without a fence onto the water and I guess they feel safe. 

I said to my husband "So, you don't think there is any chance that the swans maybe actually making the noise at night do you?"

"No, it is you, I know it is you".... he replied

I left it at that...until we went to bed....I hadn't even turned out the light and 'twerp, twerp" came a bird like sound from the lawn below.

"Hmm, that wouldn't be the same kind of sound you hear at night would it?" I asked Andrew

"Umm, yeah maybe" he said sheepishly  "But, you still make funny noises in your sleep"

"Yeah sure" I laughed...
