As you probably would have guessed I am a die hard Olympic fanatic...I love the heart pounding exhilaration you feel when watching a nail biting finish or the shear inspiration that comes with some of the most amazing performances. The Olympics is just one of those events where I seem to remember where and what I was doing 4 years ago, and 4 years before that...
The closest I came to being at the Olympics (surf lifesaving is not an Olympic sport) was being a part of the handover ceremony at the Atlanta Olympics....yes you know the one...the kangaroo on bikes...I was out there on the main arena in my surflifesaving gear, as the torch was handed over to the Sydney games.
