There seems to be a 'day' for everything..or so I thought...It only came to my attention that we don't have a national day for just getting out there and moving it. That's right, in Australia (or any country?) we don't have a national day, to promote awareness of being ACTIVE!
Crazy when you come to think of it, I mean what could be more important than starting at the grass roots with a day dedicated to the importance of our health and wellbeing?
The truth is that Australian's want to live healthier more active lives but when it comes to the fundamentals of moving and eating well, our intentions aren't backed by our actions. Sound familiar?
The Lorna Jane move, nourish, believe movement campaign is tackling this head on with an attempt to bring about one day a year dedicated to being active. September 30, 2012 is the day bookmarked as active nation day, and this is how you can join in and show your support.
It is all about voting with your feet so download the nowmoveit.com app which tracks your runs, walks and cycles via your iPhone GPS. It also records your distance traveled, total active time, pace, speed and calories burned..all while you move to support a more active nation.

This is how much Australia has moved thus far, lets try and fill in those white spaces! |
So have some fun with it and let's watch Australians move it and create the nation's most active day on September 30th.....remember every little step counts!
I was gifted with this fabulous outfit from Lorna Jane, for supporting the cause..I am wearing the Leticia Excel Tank, Marissa Bra and Sabraya core stability tight.
Do you think it is important that we create a day of awareness to health and fitness? Have you already joined in?
