When all the stars align...

Well what a way to start to the year, can you believe it is February the 1st already...phew, where did that month go?

This post is a celebration of sorts with it being my 100th post...100th post... I cannot believe I have even thought of 100 stories to show and tell....my brain must be finally waking up after having kids....

Anyways, I am not really a flog ya blogger type....but I do dabble in a bit of social media.  I kind of hop on, see who is saying what around me and get off.  Not ideal I know, but family duties call...

My favourite channel by far, is Instagram, I like it's purity and find it escapes the 'direct marketing' that comes with facebook and twitter.  It is a place where you try and be' arty farty' with your photos and use cool filters to enhance them.  It brings out the closet photographer in you...

I took part in Chantelle, aka fat mum slim's #janphotoadaychallenge.  She is just full of the best ideas and it turns out around 200 000 photos have been posted to Instagram alone from all over the world.

I took up the challenge and as you can see from some of the photos above, I had some fun playing photographer. Some days were harder than other, plainly because I wanted to make something out of nothing. It opened me to be more aware of the 'little' things and to 'see more' of what is already around me, things I used to take for granted.

So, they say it takes 30 days to create a habit, which I think I clearly have become addicted to....Thankfully,  Chantelle has devised a new challenge for us diehards and it is called the #febphotoadaychallenge.  You can share your take on the prompts she has given us on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #FEBphotoaday. You can also share on your blog or on Facebook … or even keep the photos privately for yourself.  Why don't you give it a whirl?

If you want to follow the fun on Instagram my username is 'karlagilbert' or if you don't have an iphone you can follow me on webstagram here.  I also post them to my twitter feed and facebook page.

Also, you must pop over to the gorgeous and talented Cheryl at Beachcomber, she has done a wonderful little interview on me, seeing as though her blog is all things to do with the ocean and creating the beautiful atmosphere that comes with living near the coast and in Australia.

So as you can see today, all my stars have aligned up perfectly.....)
