A weekend snippet: The beach and my new little toy...

We really are spoilt for choice of beaches on the Coast, with so many superb locations to choose from.  Over the weekend we ventured further a field (well, not really only 10km or so) and visited one of my old haunts when I was a lil nipper.   It was the perfect spot to shelter from the Southerly wind that has been hammering us all week.

My eldest daughter gets excited when she sees the nippers and is chomping at the bit to start.  It will be a fun period of our life when the girls go through the junior surf lifesavers.

I also took down a little toy to play with, my iphone waterproof camera case.  Yes, we do have an underwater camera, but I was in need of something I could take with me while on my standup board paddles in case I run into trouble and need to make a call...I was a little hesitant at first but thankfully it didn't leak and had fun playing around with it in the waves.  You can use the video underwater as well...

It is back to school this week for Queensland, and my big girl is starting Kindy, at the end of the week.  It will be a strange feeling to have everyone back to the grind again of school drops off and the return of daily routines. I have been milking the holiday feeling on the coast for it's all and look forward to some weekends away in the next month...desperately trying to hang onto the escapism of it all!
