OK, yesterday got me thinking, as I wandered into the supermarket, (actually, I was rushing with toddler in tow), is it possible.........Is it possible to get through the week with only one grocery visit?
On my first big shop of the week, I always think I have nailed it, I have a week's meals planned and all ingredients written on a trusty little scribbled note. If I am lucky to remember 'the note', and then remember everything on 'the note', it has been a good shop. This happens very rarely.
With two little girls demanding most of my attention, I end up zooming past the things I need, not even bothering to get creative or discovering new products. I used to love food shopping pre kids, it was therapeutic in a sense, and fun. I took the time to look through magazines, find new face creams, pick the best deals, now it is called the 'dash n grab'.
I am still getting used to feeding four mouths, and we seem to run out before the end of the week, but I think that no matter how much I buy, it would be seen as
'it's there to be eaten' by my husband and
'we can get more tomorrow" kind of attitude
.
So tell me what am I doing wrong....it is in my scribbled note, my rushing around, or bad planning? What is the secret, if there is one, in getting through the week on only one grocery shop visit?
