Hello World!

I have been thinking of starting a blog for nearly 4 years now but life has been on fast forward! So I'm just jumping in the deep end and swimming like I am used to and see where it leads me. I feel like I have been blogging in my head and reading blogs for the last couple of years but it has never made public. So as nervous as I am, here I am baring all (well not quite).

Anyways my name is Karla Gilbert live on the Gold Coast in Australia and have retired to be a mother. That may sound strange but yes I retired from competitive sport in Surf Lifesaving after being a professional athlete for 10 years.

It had a lot of ups and downs but winning 2 world ironwoman titles and 7 consecutive professional series titles definitely rate!

I now have two gorgeous girls ages 4 and 1... And yes that is definitely it for us!

So this blog will be a work in progress writing about things that interest and matter to me. I look forward to sharing the funny and not so funny bits that come my way.
