A blank canvas to paint the perfect day...

Well, what can I say, Mother's Day 2012 was a rippa.  The sun was shining, the skies were blue and it was just up to me to create my perfect day....

I was keen to get a run in before the family woke, so at the break of dawn on went the shoes and off I trotted on my favourite run.  I didn't really plan to make it just in time for sunrise but as it worked out I reached the top of the mountain to witness the sun rise above the ocean's horizon.  Breathtaking.

I couldn't help myself just take a minute to reflect on how fortunate I am to have two gorgeous healthy girls to wish me a happy mother's day when I return.

The day's have been simply amazing lately, a little chilly early but once the sun is up, it is just enough to keep you warm.

After tag teaming my husband, he set off on a ski paddle while I hung with the girls and made our way up to my parent's house to enjoy a morning with all.  We enjoyed a acai berry bowl in the park and just generally hung out and enjoyed the day.

The girls are just smitten with Ma and I do laugh at how they can con her into doing things I would normally say no to.

After lunch we headed down to the beach for a paddle and play in the sand. Another 'ahh' moment...

 Yep, Mother's day 2012 was kind to us. Who needs fancy presents or lunches if  you can be with those that mean the most..x
