You can safely say I am a morning person......once I am up. Sure, some mornings can be harder than others to pull the doona off but it is never a regretful decision to seize the opportunity for some exercise.
One thing I notice as I am going about my workout is the acknowledgement or there lack of towards other fellow morning exercisers. Now, I am not saying I am 100% committed to saying hello to every single person I pass but I just wonder... is there are any rules to the morning hello?
I have found there are 3 types of 'ignores' that can happen when you pass a stranger
1. The person coming towards you completely blanks you out, keeps going at the same pace and pretends you never said anything to them
2. The stranger that sees you coming, and starts to do something else as though they are preoccupied ie; talk on their phone
3. Eyes focus on the path or anywhere that doesn't acknowledge another human being.
I am not one of those people that just say hello to every single person, I like it to be genuine, and I kind of go on a bit of a gut feel, but isn't it a nice feeling when a greeting or smile is shared.
I respect that some people are out there to 'turn off' to social interaction, and an ipod will do this perfectly but it does leave me wondering.
Is the morning hello turning into a bit of a social taboo or is it still prevalent around your parts?
